Maureen FitzSimons' early achievements in the performing arts (now called Maureen O'Hara), would have placed her in America's child prodigy list. For a child that had Irish roots, surrounded as she was by gifted parents as well as a family full filled with talented individuals, these characteristics were innate. Maureen came to this loving sanctuary on August 17th, 1920. Her family was her parents and family members. Marguerita Lea. FitzSimons made a name for herself with her contralto. Charles FitzSimons ran a Dublin-based business and was also an investor in the Irish Shamrock Rovers soccer club. Maureen FitzSimons was the daughter of Charles FitzSimons. Peggy, Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons made up this beautiful family. Maureen was a natural athlete and was a fan of tough sports. This passion was combined with an equally natural aptitude for performing. Her winning of almost all Feis awards for her native country's theater and drama proved this. At the age of 14 she was accepted into with the Abbey Theater to follow her goals in the field of classical theatre as well as operatic vocals.
