Shailene has been a popular American actress and activist. Her popularity was boosted by her role Alexandra "Alex" King, a teenager suffering from drug addiction, on The Descendants. In addition to the praised performance she delivered on The Descendants, Shailene has played a variety of roles that showed off her talent for portraying difficult characters with ease. Shailene managed to get a prominent place in the film industry early in her career. This is itself an accomplishment. Shailene began her film career acting in television series as well as commercials. In later years, she portrayed prominent characters in Hollywood flicks.
